Why do christian evangelicals or protestants always predict the end of the world?

and they believe in the rapture so much? where in the Bible is exactly the rapture? as far as I know the christians who are evangelicals o protestants believe in this doctrine from a verse of the pauline letters and all the protestant christians believe so much we are living the last days why is that?
