Could someone please explain MEIOSIS in simple terms ?

meiosis is the process where the mother cell divides to form 4 daughter cells.it is the process in which the chromosome duplicate only once but the cell divides 2 times and it results in formation of 4 haploid cells.so it is called as reductional division
