September 2007 News?

I have to write a paper by tomorrow. I need a national news story for each week. So the first week i need a story and so on for each week. If you could shout out some big events that happened. I can do the research. Although it cant be sports related or about a celebrity so please nothing about Brittney or OJ. It has to be something national. Thanks for all the help.
